Always Summer

Always Summer

It was last 2016 our family's Post-Christmas celebration. Every time our family has a get together its always visiting local beaches in our hometown.
I could no longer count in my fingers the beaches I have visited locally in my hometown from good ones to bad ones.

I wouldn't be posting this one if I didn't find Hagonoy Island to be a good one.

Hagonoy Island is half an hour boat ride from Caguyaw, Bislig City.

The waiting time for the boat was annoying but the boat ride made up to it because it was fun.

Living in the Philippines, especially on the south, frequently has a bright sunny weather although it is paired with a humidity that makes me sweat all the time. Anyway, the beach and the water is a salvation in our environment.

Vlogs on youtube has insipired me to take videos thus, I only took videos upon our visit in Hagonoy.

So here is a short video on my visit to Hagonoy Island. Enjoy!

My Honest Opinion on my last visit~
What I liked?
The view, the scenery, and the salty air definitely is worth it. I get to be immersed in nature is still the best feeling.

The huts were very adorable. I find the huts there Instagram worthy photos thou I didn't take any photo because I was busy playing in the water.

I also like that they don't have sea weeds so I was able to play in the water in peace and joy. Yes, I hate sea weeds. If there are sea weeds in a beach I wouldn't play on the beach, okay.

What I didn't like?
As I said before the foremost most annoying for me was waiting for a boat. Yeah, I need to improve my patience. The boat ride will make up to it thou, because the scenery was enjoyable.

Secondly, it is impossible not to have a tan. The water is very tempting that my tan ended up becoming a sun burn. I am very much a child at heart so I couldn't really keep myself from playing in water under the sun.

This third one is more of a rant since this should be expected to begin with but the back side of the island is quite not clean for me. Some people leave broken pieces of glass which isn't very safe.

Adventures with no Permissions

Adventures with no Permissions

Why was I there?
I was able to go to Sitio Namnam, Marilog District, Davao City because of our Community Exposure during College.

What did I find there?
We heard a story from the seniors who already graduated that they went to a nearby falls upon there exposure on the same site. Conflicts occurred on the seniors' visit on the falls which resulted in the banning of the next set of students to visit the falls.

Me and my friends wanted to go to the falls, we knew we weren't allowed so we went without the permission of our instructor. The travel time to the falls with a ride is an hour, so if we walked there it would take too much time going back and forth, still we persisted on a little adventure.

The owner of the house (Our host) we were staying at Sitio Namnam were really kind and understanding of our hunger for adventure so he advised us on a closer and smaller falls.

We couldn't take the L3 with us because that would inform our instructor of our plans so we walked. It was an hour walk from there house to the falls and another hour back. Let's say we found a way to be gone for 2 hours without having any suspicion from our instructor and other classmates.

My Adventure~
Here on I'll try to remember the feelings and the things I did on that day.
I was eating grilled corn with my right hand and holding unto my next corn with my left hand. We were walking towards the falls and at that time I didn't know it would require a whole lot of stamina so I wasn't dressed for the occasion.

(It was from this field the grilled corn I was eating. The person in the photo is my friend who also went to the falls.)
After I finished eating my first grilled corn the walking has become the hiking. The road at Sitio Namnam is not cemented so it felt for me when trying to walk anywhere would be called hiking.

Anyway, what I meant as walking was a more flatter line over than a slanted line.
The hiking began as we started to walk around the hill following the road. I was enjoying my hike because of the beautiful scenery of nature.
(A photo I took on while hiking)

When our host said we were close to the falls it meant that we were gonna go down a steep area of the hill, follow the river and climb going up to the falls.

(The river we were following going to the falls)

Remembering it now I would like to redefine our host's meaning of 'close'. Anyway, we were short on time so we had to go through the short cut which was a steep way down and follow the river.

Finally, reaching the falls after all the sweat and almost losing my slipper in the river. It was really beautiful but time was not our friend so we could only take limited photos.

(The falls. Obviously, its small. Excuse the head above, lol)

We stayed around 10 minutes resting and taking our photos then we climbed up the falls. Our host was helping us climb up cause we are (obviously) not used to such activities.

(Left:A photo of my friends climbing up. Right:A photo at the top of the falls.)

After we had enough photos we proceeded to return by following the river on top of the falls.

(The river above the falls.)

We followed the river until we found the road back. If we had enough time we would have entered through the road but it wasn't the case. I enjoyed the short cut despite being more physically demanding because it was full of laughs, giggling and shrieking.

We still didn't have enough time so we had to go through another short cut going back. Before, we went around the hill this time we have to go up and down the hill.

The hill looked like a short distance looking from below but after we started climbing/hiking up, even just 1/4th of the hill, demanded so much of our lungs. Compared to our host who is used to such physicals demands we were frequently taking a breather.
The hill had tall grasses even taller than me. I'm 5'2" by the way. I had so many cuts in my arms because of the grasses. My white pants was folded up so it wouldn't have been wet from the river but because of that I had a lot of cuts in my legs. I didn't notice my cuts while climbing because it wasn't as painful as my lungs demanding for oxygen.
I could remember that I could barely speak properly while breathing, lol.

(While taking a breather from climbing up the hill.)

We were exhausted upon reaching the top of the hill but the view was so breathtaking that pushed us to keep on taking photos, lol. Well, reaching the top really did take every breath we had.

(I really loved the memory of this photos so I didn't really like making it small. Photos on top of the hill)

(After reaching the top of the hills, we were walking back to the house. There backs, lol)

My thoughts~
I really loved this memory even writing this down I couldn't help myself but smile from the nostalgia. If anyone would be able to read this do try to take on adventures. If your gonna go on an adventure without permission please bring someone who would guide you, its better to be safe than sorry.
